3d laser scanning services Cadtec 3d laser scanning services
introduction Using 3D Laser Scanning equipment Cadtec can rapidly collect a large amount of accurate coordinated three dimensional 3D laser point cloud data from the surface of remote feature as a ‘point cloud’ image, providing rapid surveying solutions for inaccessible elements/components. where health & safety may impact the capture of the relevant information.
Brief History Having spent many years site surveying plants throughout the U.K and the world including: UK sites include: Gas compressor stations (St Fergus,Moffat,Kerriemuir,Aberdeen,Chelmsford,Wormington,) UK power stations (Drax,Ratcliffe,Ferrybridge,Fiddlers ferry,West Burton, Littlebrook) Water treatment plants ( Davey Hulme, Castle Donnington, Thames water) Overseas sites include: Australia (Hazelwood-Victoria) France (Porcheville, Cordemais) Lithuania (Vilnius power station)
Spheres are strategically positioned around the designated area to be scanned these are then used to stitch (register ) the scans together before exporting into cad. Spheres shown in green figures 1 &2. (see figure 1). Walled external surfaces can also be used as a method to stitch the scanned data together (see figure 2) shown in dull green. Figure 1 Figure 2
A fully rotational 360° photographical image can be used to gain further information such as equipment identification tag numbers etc. (see figure 3). Figure 3
Gathered information may also be used as a contraction variation to settle unwanted disputes, images can be cut & paste into project documents as a use of evidence of equipment being installed not to contract drawings. (see figure 4). Figure 4
Scan data output. This output is made up of millions of points captured by the laser scanner. (Approximately 9 scans)
Scan data-refurbished equipment.
