Nubian achievements were a result of their trade and industry. Achievements in Nubia Nubian achievements were a result of their trade and industry. Due to Egyptian conquest, Egyptian traditions were integrated into Nubian culture. This led to the building of many great pyramids in Nubia.

Geography of Nubia Nubia bordered Ancient Egypt to the South. The Nile flows North through Nubia and is called the Middle Nile. Lower Nubia is the Northern area and Upper Nubia is the Southern area.

Religion >Because of their long history of conquering and being conquered by Egypt, Nubian religion became very similar to that of the Egyptians. >Nubians adopted the Egyptian gods and goddesses (like Isis), the Book of the Dead, and the tradition of burying the high ranking deceased in pyramids.

Economy >Nubia was Egypt's key to African goods and Egypt was Nubia’s key to Mediterranean goods. >Frankincense, ivory, myrrh, ebony (and other exotic woods), precious oils, resins and gums, panther and leopard skins, monkeys, dogs, giraffes, ostrich feathers and eggs where all goods Egypt got from trading with Nubia.

Law and Government Ancient Nubian King, Sudan Ancient Nubian King, Piye .Dynasties ruled Nubia .By 1550 BC kings at Kerma were ruling Nubia .The Nubian King Piye became the first of a succession of five black pharaohs’ who ruled Egypt for six decades with the blessing of the Egyptian priesthood

What forces led to the rise of Nubia? Trade was definitely one of the forces that led Nubia to greatness. Nubia was located right on the shores of the Nile, and being there connected them to waterways that allowed the creation of trade routes to other African kingdoms. Nubia was also connected to other kingdoms culturally, Egypt in particular had similar religious customs to those of Nubia. This helped diplomacy between the neighboring nations and led to further cultural diffusion.
