*Important Information* Mrs. Barback’s Class Newsletter Week of: October 16, 2017 ELA: We will continue to read Starry Messenger to understand cause and effect relationships. We will also learn about literal and non-literal language and answer the question “What does a deeper exploration of nonliteral language and illustrations Reveal in “Starry Messenger”? Math: This week we will be counting by units of 6 and 7 to multiply and divide using number bonds to decompose. We will be able to interpret the unknown in multiplication and division to model and solve problems using units of 6 and 7. Social Living: This week we will continue our geography unit in social studies. We will learn about different types of communities including rural, suburban, and urban areas. A study guide went home. Please review concepts each night with your child. The geography assessment will be Friday October 27th. Homework Monday: Math- Worksheet and Sprint ELA- Comprehension/How to Project Social Living: Study Tuesday: Math- Worksheet and Sprint Wednesday: Math- Worksheet and Sprint Thursday: Math- Worksheet and Sprint *Important Information* MP2 Test 1 – Friday 10/20 Cold Read 5 – Thursday 10/19 Sprint and Spelling Assessment Friday Benchmark tests will not be sent home. If you would like to see your child’s tests, Report Card Conference is October 24, 2017. Starting this week test folders will be sent home on Fridays and returned on Monday.
