Q 1 How to identify PresQT Priorities? Feedback from yesterday’s pilot of the Data and Software Preservation Quality Tool Needs Assessment will be presented to inform panelists’ discussion of PresQT priorities and Stakeholder needs. Q 1 How to identify PresQT Priorities?

Who should the tool gaps prioritized by PresQT serve Who should the tool gaps prioritized by PresQT serve? Those who often already share or those who seldom share? res_open_data - How often have you made your research data free to access, reuse, repurpose, and redistribute?

Is there a gap related to ease of tagging, keyword assignment or implementation of search expansion that PresQT could fill? res_keywords - Ease of Keywording When asked to submit keywords to describe your own or others' research is it usually:

res_keywords_avail - Keyword Accuracy Is there an opportunity in keyword nudging or taxonomy facilitated keywording that could solve the accuracy problem people encounter when they assign keywords to their work ? res_keywords_avail - Keyword Accuracy

Provenance: Tools that show who did what when, or what changed when

Tools that let you preserve your own or reuse others' workflows

Fixity: Tools that help users or data curators identify whether a digital file is fixed, or unchanged.

Keyword Assignment: Tools that automate or nudge for better or easier tagging

Profile Based Recommender: Tool that helps users identify digital resources of interest based on their profile

De-identification: Tools that make it easier to de-identify or anonymise data so you can share it

Tools that provide an assessment of a digital object's metadata completeness or preservation

tools_data_preserv - Do you have a data or software preservation quality tool need this project could help you develop ? If so, please describe: Do you have a data or software preservation quality tool need this project... I'd like to see a tool that would help transition data from active use by the researcher to curation status by the library. the main question to me is who is going to pay for preservation, of what and for how long? Just tools to help understand the state of data preservation I have a history with the project mytardis.org that would benefit A tool to assign identifiers to emulated environments. A tool to identify which software environments content could be executed using. I need tools or widgets that help make commercial products interoperable, eg federated searching across Box, DropBox and Google Drive

tools_gap - Is there a tool gap in your digital ecosystem or workflow tools_gap - Is there a tool gap in your digital ecosystem or workflow? If so, please describe: Is there a tool gap in your digital ecosystem or workflow? If so, please d... Transition from active use to curation status. Preservation of proprietary formats. Linked Provenance to origin (higher fidelity or source) data Places to put largish data for long-term preservation - issue is that most places will keep the data until you stop paying; but grants go away No Evaluating the suitability of software for reuse Data cleaning platforms! Ways to track provenance of updates during cleaning. There are many! Workflow/provenance tools are probably the most important Authoring tool See previous answer

Q2 How should PresQT engage with you? The PresQT Workshops bookend a work period during which we will conduct the Data and Software Preservation Quality Tool Needs Analysis and further engage with stakeholders.
