LO: to recognise < > and = symbols Lesson 1 LO: to recognise < > and = symbols

LO:to recognise < > and = symbols Success criteria. I can recognise < > and = symbols. I can use symbols in a number sentence. I can use the word smaller and larger.

Greater than and Less than crocodiles….

< >

The greedy crocodile always eats the bigger number… > 12 24 12 is greater than

Greater or less than? 24 and 89

Greater or less than? 32 and 28

Greater or less than? 19 and 65

Greater or less than? 72 and 23

Greater or less than? 99 and 100

24 is less than 89 24 < 89

Well done!

LO: to recognise < > and = symbols. Shuffle a pack of number cards 10–100.  Ask two children to take one each and to stand on either side of the flip chart. What sign do we need in between these two numbers? Draw the correct symbol between the two children.  Repeat with other pairs of children and new numbers.

LO: to use < > and = symbols.

LO: to use < > and = symbols LO: to use < > and = symbols. Extra challenge; On your whiteboards…. roll a dice and write the number.  roll again and write the number.  Insert the correct symbol in-between. Pick a number card and write the number in your book, choose a second card to find a second two digit number.   Which number is bigger?  write the correct symbol. Roll a dice twice to find a  two digit number.  roll again twice to find a second two digit number.  which number is bigger?  write the correct symbol.

Lesson 2 LO: Order and compare 2-digit numbers and say a number between. Success Criteria - I can come larger and smaller numbers. I can compare two – digit numbers. I can use < > and = symbols.
