Year 9 OUTDOOR ART Year 9 Outdoor Art Course Description: The study of Outdoor Art explains the method of designing through to construction, of an outdoor mural, installation or sculpture. As a group, the class explores and uses ideas and concepts both historical and contemporary through the creative use of materials, methods and techniques. Students are required to brainstorm, design and use small scale model drawings as plans to aid construction of the installation. When not actively involved in the group project students have the ability to develop and produce their personal art work.   Work Plan:

Why Study this? Work Tasks Assessment tasks May include video GROUP PROJECT WHEREBY ALL STUDENTS CONTRIBUTE TO THE PLANNING AND DESIGNING OF A PROJECT AND THEN ACTIVELY MAKE THE ARTWORK; THIS EXAMPLE WAS BASED ON NOUTDOOR PHOTGRAPHY REFLECTIONS AND THEN SCREENPRINTED ONTO CANVAS USING STENCILS AND ACYLIC FLOURESCANT PAINTS. THE INDIVIDUAL CANVASES MAKE UP THE WHOLE INSTALLATION AND CAN BE INTERCHANGABLE; THIS WAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL EXMPLE OF USING SEVERAL ART FORMS 2: individual artwork . May include video 1: Group project

Extra activities/costs? Students are expected to have some type of visual diary to show ideas Most materials and equipment is supplied, however sometimes you will need to recourse some found materials or objects that you may need for eg; a sculpture.
