This is all the questions you will be asked on your senior interview + 1. Please go through these slides and fill in important information. We will have the questions available to the seminar teacher to ask with your family member at the appointment. You may use this power point as a guide to help you prepare.

Introductions My name is… I would like to introduce everyone in the room.

Personal Development Let me tell you a little about myself. Who am I? What defines me? What positive characteristics and personality qualities do I have? Documents: Academic Resume, Personal Statement, and Cover Letter How did I become the person I am today? What struggles, challenges, and obstacles have I overcome in high school and my life and what have I learned about myself along the way? Documents: Personal Statement and High School Reflection Essay What are your dreams for the future and what skills and qualities do you have that will help you in the future? Documents: Post High School Plans Essay, Personal Statement WHAT EVIDENCE DO I HAVE IN MY PORTFOLIO THAT I CAN USE DURING THIS SLIDE TO SUPPORT MY STATEMENTS?

Community Experiences Have you done any volunteer community service? Explain briefly: what did you do, who did it serve, and what did you learn about yourself and your community along the way? Document: Academic Resume , certificates, or other evidence of service, Did you have an after school job or work experience? Explain briefly: what were your duties and what did you learn about yourself and the working world along the way? Documentation: Evidence of work experience (paystubs, uniform, pictures etc.) Did you do any extracurricular activities such as sports or clubs? Explain briefly: What sport(s) did you participate in and what did you learn about yourself and the community along the way? Documentation: Academic Resume, other evidence of participation (certificates, trophies, awards etc.)

Samples of Best Work What 3 items do you have to share and why did you pick them? They need to be from different subjects; They can be posters, projects, PowerPoints, papers, tests, art, photos, demonstrations, etc. One of your items needs to have a research component (w/ bibliography). Schoolwork Example #1: Explain what it is, what class it comes from and why you selected it. How does this show your growth as a learner? Senior Outlook (Juniors Only) Explain your progress towards graduation. Where is your credit situation? What is your cumulative GPA? Which state tests do you still need to pass? How did you perform on your PSAT and SAT Have you started looking into Post HS options? DOCUMENTS: Career Cruising, Post High School Plan, Goals Sheet, Letters of acceptance (college, workforce, or military), FAFSA, scholarships, etc.

Future Plans Explain your future plans. Why is the best plan for you? How has your pathway, the choices you have made, and the metamorphosis you have undergone in high school prepared you to be successful in this plan? How are you going to financially support yourself in this endeavor? DOCUMENTS: Career Cruising, Post High School Plan, Goals Sheet, Letters of acceptance (college, workforce, or military), FAFSA, scholarships, etc.
