REMOTE ENERGY METER MONITORING AND FALUT MONITORING OF TRANSFORMER TO THE POWER STATION SUBMITTED BY, S.GUGAPRIYA(91706112010) A.BOOMADEVI(91706112303) INTERNAL GUIDE, Mr.S.MALAISAMY M.E INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONIC CORPORATION MADURAI EXTERNAL GUIDE, Mr.R.ANNAMALAI B.E

ABSTRACT In this project, Remote energy meter reading and distributed transformer fault is measured with its location to the power station by RFID technology. The optical sensor senses the number of revolutions of the energy meter and modulates a coded data with high frequency carrier , which in turn is transmitted to the receiver at the remote place. The receiver detects the modulated carrier and the resolve for the energy meter constant to give out the direct display of the kw/hr consumed. Measured distributed transformer fault is compared with preset value and it is transmitted through RF transmitter. RF receiver receives the data and displayed by LCD display.

EXISTING SYSTEM In conventional method, Plenty of man power is used to read the energy meter reading and it hadn’t to recognize the fault in the distributed transformer. PROPOSED SYSTEM In this project, Energy meter reading and fault in distributed transformer with its location is monitored automatically to the power station by RFID technology.

NEED OF THE PROJECT The idea is to reduce the hassle of manual collection of the energy consumption, especially in the case of house hold services. And also we can find the fault in distributed transformer with its location to the power station. Receiving of data can be shifted to any place. Also useful for industries to communicate data to any where inside the factory.

RESULT Thus the remote energy meter reading with corresponding charges was monitored. Transformer fault in four stages such as high voltage, low voltage, and high current, high temperature to the power station was monitored using RFID technology.

CONCLUSION We have designed our project to read the energy meter reading and recognize the fault in distributed transformer with its location to the power station by using RFID technology. Thus, the implementation of this project produces the digital data as an output. Digital data can be shifted to anywhere and stored more number of data easily. It reduces the man power and it is helpful to find the fault transformer. The entire system can be cost effective and significant amount of money and time can be saved due to the implementation of the automated system, as compared to the one involving the human factor.

FUTURE EXTENTION OF THE PROJECT In this project, RFID technology is implemented to read the output data. It can also be implemented by using GSM technology, using this technology we can read the output data in addition to that we can also find the power theft.

MERITS OF THIS PROJECT It reduces the man power. It gives more accurate reading. Data can be easily shifted to any place. Also useful for industries to communicate data to any where inside the factory. we can find the fault in transformer and with its location to the power station.
