Point of view Nick is the person who is telling the story. It makes you feel and understand what he feels. It only shows one perspective which changes the whole story. When he goes through challenges it makes you feel just as he does. When he is on the soccer field you can see him play in your mind. Book analysis Nick has a great story to tell. Full of twists and turns, family drama, and soccer. It is a bumpy ride, will he be ok? At school he gets bullied, at home he says that he gets bullied. In the middle he gets invited to play in the Dallas cup. He says the only thing that he lives for is soccer, if their wasn’t soccer he said that he wanted to die. Plot slide The main problems in the story are that Nick’s family is breaking apart, he is getting bullied, and he really wants to play soccer in the Dallas cup, his parents are worried about him and want him to stay home. After a fight breaks out the bullies get sent to another school, and his best friend, Coby, got suspended for two days. He got to go to Dallas but in a game his appendix burst. The authors message I think the author is trying to say that life is tough, but in the end it is worth living. I think this because in the middle of the book it says Nick wishes he was dead. He said the only good thing about his life was soccer and if that got taken away it wouldn't’t be worth living.
