My Pitch

“When you are a beginning film maker you are desperate to survive “When you are a beginning film maker you are desperate to survive. The most important thing in the end is survival and being able to get to your next picture.” - George Lucas

My idea in detail My idea is a birds eye view of a dozen of people cheering around 2 guys. Then it switches to Character B’s fist with Character A in the background in a focus pull, as Char B says “ yo dawg you done goofed and now its payback time” then it switches to a extreme close up of Char A’s eye saying “ don’t temp me yo I don’t wanna fight yo” and the camera pans around all the crowd. Then there's a gun shot heard and It fades to black. Then it shows a silhouette of a man falling down on his knees.

My idea in detail Then there's a birds eye view shot of Character C mopping, then it switches to a medium shot that pans down to show him mopping up something. Then it switches to a extreme close up of blood and slowly zooms out. Then there's an extreme close up of an eye that pans out to show the Character C dead on the floor. Then it’s a medium shot of a wall with a satanic face and demonic laughing.

Target Audience The target audience for my film idea is people who are interested in a mystery thriller. The main demographic would probably be males aged 16-32 and females aged 18-24.

Appropriateness for Target Audience It is appropriate as over the past decade interest in the mystery thriller genre has grown rapidly thanks to TV crime dramas. I think mainly males will be interested as it has more of a fantasy theme in a gangster setting which they tend to find more interesting than females.

USP I think the unique selling point is that it’s a mystery thriller in with a fantasy gangster theme. Combines a hybrid of genres to always keep it fresh and interesting and varied from all the other films that the target audience may watch so it will keep their interest.

USP Uses codes and conventions of each genre to create a new and dynamic style that engages the audience as it is something new and varied from the rest of the films they watch. cinematography is jagged and sharp to create an almost documentary feel this helps as there has been a rising interest in documentary type films and will attract older audiences.

Audience Interest The audience should be immediately intrigued as this is a hybrid of popular genres so I believe they will be interested enough from first impressions. I will retain this interest through various trailers enforcing a repeated message.

What style am I going to use? My film is going to be bold and powerful and have tense powerful scenes as I want it stick in their minds.

What message am I going to send? I want to send them a message that they should always expect the unexpected.
