Journal 10/23/2017 Watch the following video If you could create something awesome, what would it be? What is something you really want to know about? Do you agree with what Kid President is saying? Why or why not?

Antigone Review “Antigone” Section Reviews PROLOGUE and PARODOS   PROLOGUE and PARODOS Antigone asks her sister, Ismene, to help her bury their brother, Polyneices, even though it is against the law. She says no, but Antigone says she will do it anyway. The chorus flashes back to tell us about the battle between Eteocles and Polyneices. SCENE 1 and ODE 1 Creon makes his decree about Eteocles and Polyneices, and the Sentry tells Creon that Polyneices was buried properly. Creon tells him to find out who did it, or HE will be killed. LOVE conquers all, and the chorus also says that the laws of the land must be followed but so must the laws of the gods. SCENE 2 and ODE 2 Creon is told that Antigone buried Polyneices, and he does not believe it. He accuses Ismene as well, but Antigone will not let her take credit because is excessively proud and does not want to share the credit for the burial. The chorus tells us that excessive pride is horrible to the gods and that the Curse of Oedipus is alive and well.

How did Antigone react to being captured by the sentries?  5. Who else does Creon have arrested in connection with the crime of burying Polyneices?  6. Why is Antigone angry with Ismene?

Journal 10-25-2017 Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. He is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech. His work frequently employed settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century. One of the most popular and critically respected American poets of the twentieth century, Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1960 for his poetic works. On July 22, 1961, Frost was named poet laureate of Vermont. Wikipedia contributors.
