E. L. L. Mission The mission of the ELL program is to foster an engaging, multicultural learning environment where students develop academic and social language and cultural competency. Krista

CCSD ELL program started in 2006 (12th year) Who Do We Serve? CCSD ELL program started in 2006 (12th year) Students range from “newcomer” to students who are being monitored after exiting the ELL program Monitored and exited with ELPA 21 test and IA assessments (reading and math) Krista

Program Goals CCSD Action Plan: We believe in developing community partnerships. 1. CCSD ELL Program Goal: 90% of ELL families will participate in K-12 conferences (in person, phone, or via written exchange). CCSD Action Plan: We believe all children can learn at high levels. 2. CCSD ELL Program Goal: 70% of ELs will show growth on the spring aReading (FAST) test in grades K-6 & 85% of students in K-6 will meet benchmark goals for spring FAST. 3. CCSD ELL Program Goal: 70% of ELs will show growth on the Iowa Assessment Reading Comprehension and Math Assessment in grades 2-12. 4. CCSD ELL Program 70% of ELs will show one point growth (or maintain proficiency score) in the area of “speaking” on the ELPA21 assessment. Alli

Changing Demographics 38% 62% 53% 46% Wendy: 4 years ago we had over 60% of our students born in the US and now that number has dropped about 10%. There has also been an increase in our refugee population. Talk a little bit as to why there has been an increase of refugee in our area particularly. Projected Number of Students Interesting Facts 2016-17...hired an additional ½ time position 2017-2018...added an additional elementary school 2017-2018...average of 40 students per roster 2022-2023...projection of 324 students Laura... Rebecca B. Data Coach…Per Rebecca she created the projection based on the average increase of students and then projected the numbers for the next 5 years.
