Discovery of Venus Who: It’s likely ancient people thousands of years ago knew about it. When: Unknown How: Ancient people saw Venus in the sky

Planet Measurements Mass of Venus- 4.8673 * 1024 kg Volume- 9.28415 x 1011 km3 Density- 5.243 g/cm3

Composition of Atmosphere of Venus The atmosphere of Venus is made up almost completely of carbon dioxide. Nitrogen exists in small doses, as do clouds of sulfuric acid. The air of Venus is so dense that small traces of nitrogen are four times the amount found on earth

Distances Venus is the second closest to the sun Venus is 108 million Km from the Sun The are many different numbers for Venus’s distance from earth, but the closest it can be is 38 Kilometers

Orbit and Rotation of Venus It takes Venus 225 Earths days to Orbit the sun It takes 243 days for Venus to rotate on its own axis

Temperature on Venus Venus is 480°C (900°F) Compared to Earth Venus is a lot hotter than Earth Picture of Venus using Radar pictures

Composition/Appearance of Venus Venus is very rocky on its outer layer, and on the internal layer it is very dense Venus is an orangey color, when scientist don’t use the right equipment you can only see clouds that are covering Venus, so you can’t see it.

Things Venus doesn’t have Venus doesn’t have any Rings, or any water Venus also has no moons

If a Human Traveled to Venus If someone went to Venus that person would burn, get squashed because of the lack of gravity, and suffer from lack of oxygen

Cool Facts about Venus There are many lava flows on Venus There are also many Volcanoes
