Mrs. Barback’s Class Newsletter Week of: October 2, 2017 ELA: This week we will be reviewing for our ELA benchmark which will take place on Thursday. The ELA benchmark will consist of comprehension passages with Part A/Part B questions and one essay. Math: This week we will be reviewing for our math benchmark. We will begin our math benchmark on Wednesday. We will be breaking apart our math benchmark into two days. Please be sure to review and practice the study guide with your child every night. Social Living: This week we will continue reviewing key information for this week’s benchmark. A study guide went home last week with your child and it is important that you review both science and social studies concepts each night. Homework Monday: Math- Worksheet ELA- Comprehension Social Living: Study Everyday Tuesday: Math- Worksheet ELA- Comprhension Wednesday: Math- Worksheet and Study Thursday: Math- Worksheet *Important Information* Social Studies Benchmark 10/3 Math Benchmark Part 1 10/4 ELA Benchmark 10/5 Math Benchmark Part 2 10/5 Science Benchmark 10/5 Spelling Assessment Friday Standards: ELA: 1. I can ask and answer questions about a poem. 2. I can explain how specific aspects of texts illustrations contribute to what is conveyed by words in a story. 3. I can determine the central message. Math: 1. I can fluently add and subtract within 1000. 2. I can use place value to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
