Lab Rules Syllabus Keep track of Test Dates You will only be allowed to make up a practical if an emergency situation occurs. Please notify me ASAP to make arrangements. Make up exams will be taken at the end of the semester, same day as your last practical. Lab attendance is MANDATORY Allowed 1 Absence in case an emergency occurs 3 points will be deducted from your FINAL AVERAGE GRADE for every absence missed Pay attention to the withdrawal date If you stop coming and do not withdraw, you will receive an F in the class If you feel as if you need to withdraw, please come talk to me CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

Lab Rules Dress Code Lab coats are REQUIRED to be worn while in Lab Available in the bookstore Closed Toe, Closed Heel shoes are to be worn any time you step into lab You will NOT be allowed into lab if you show up to lab in open toe shoes

Lab Rules Be Punctual Keep your area clean Disinfect your benchtop BEFORE and AFTER lab Keep your bookbags/purses kept away under your bench Clean up after yourself after lab is finished The lab should look the same when you as when you walked in or even better NO FOOD OF DRINKS IN LAB AT ANY TIME

Lab Safety Be aware of your surroundings Know where the trash, biohazard, sharps and broken glass are disposed Know where the Fire Extinguisher and Fire Blanket are located We are dealing with live microorganisms so be careful handling cultures..do not touch cultures and then your face or eyes without washing your hands first.

Open Lab Policy Open lab is a PRIVILEDGE. Treat the lab as if you were in class. This includes cleaning up after yourself and the proper dress code. Be respectful of the Lab Staff. Open Lab is only available if there is no ongoing lab at that time. Schedules are posted on the lab door. There is NO Open Lab the week of the Practical Open Lab Hours Pruitt Campus (SLW) Monday-Thursday 8:30-12:00 PM (not available Summer I) Main Campus Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:00 PM (not available Summer II)
