What’s my RSO Status? Good Standing= full RSO rights and benefits To maintain: Have an active Portal on Org Sync Submit officers’ names/contact info annually Attend annual RSO Officer Orientation Probation= your RSO has not met one of the above requirements You cannot reserve space on campus! To get back in good standing simply do what you hadn’t done… Suspension= your RSO has been on probation for 1 academic year or more This status revokes your SGA charter Reinstatement requires reapplying to be an RSO Mention renewed 5 year contract with OrgSync. Encourage students to get on board

Important Information for Funding RSO’s cannot use: UofL Procard Tax Exempt # Non Profit Account 501(c) MANDATORY IF APPLYING FOR FUNDING: Obtain a Federal Tax Identification number (EIN) Open a bank account for the RSO Turn in a W9 and Vendor survey If awarded the $$$: The RSO’s contact person completes a form Allow 30 days to receive disbursement check If your group makes between $5,000 and $50,000 you must submit a 990-N tax form.

A letter from Julie Onnembo stating that you are an official RSO in Good Standing 3. The names of members and Advisor(s) who will have access to the account
Bank Account Best Practices Use a local bank or credit union that is used to working with student organizations Keep special care of the account’s debit card, if you have one Specify in your Constitution who will be in charge of monitoring your bank account Advisors cannot be the sole proprietors of any RSO Bank Account. When transferring account information to the new officers make sure they know your EIN number, access codes and where your bank statements are sent.

More on Reservations… Check the availability of the space before making your request Place your request online at: http://louisville.edu/studentactivities/forms/reservation For meetings, please allow at least 2 business days (reservations are made Mon-Fri, 8-4) For events, please allow at least 2 weeks If you cancel your event or meeting, make sure to cancel your reservation
Advertising your Events OrgSync Flyers, handbills, etc. SAC Policy: submit flyers to front desk & we will stamp and post them for you Do not post in bathrooms, on doors, or windows Chalking-only on flat, horizontal surface; not under overhang If using yard signs, send an email to the Student Involvement Office stating the topic, and when the signs can be taken down
Event/Meeting Do’s and Don’ts Arrive on time for your events. Make sure you have everything you need for your event i.e. plates, napkins, cups etc. Do not use glitter or table decorations that are hard to vacuum at the end of the day. Candles, tea lights or any open flame is Against the Law in State and Federal Buildings. Make sure all garbage is picked up and taken with you or disposed of in a proper trash receptacle. If you borrowed extra furniture please return it to where you borrowed it from.
