OF MICE AND MEN By John Steinbeck

The setting- Salinas Valley The setting for the novel is the Salinas Valley in California, mainly on a ranch. It is set in the 1930’s The setting- Salinas Valley

Following the collapse of the Wall Street stock market in 1929 the US entered a prolonged period of economic depression. During this period of harsh poverty and long term unemployment, hordes of migrant workers came to California from other parts of America in search of work. Migrant workers
