Meet All Requirements Athletes should aim to meet all of the following requirements and should closely look it each one as they are different. Graduation Requirements A-G Requirements (out of state schools may have different requirements, students need to research them) NCAA Requirements

High School Graduation Requirements English: 4 years (40 Credits) Math: 3 years (30 Credits) * must meet algebra requirement Science: 2 years (20 Credits) *1 yr. Life Sceince & 1 yr. Physical Science Health: 1 semester (5 credits) Social Studies: 3 years (30 Credits) World Hist., US Hist., Govt./Econ PE: 2 years (20 credits) Fine Art or Foreign Lang: 1 year (10 credits) Electives: 70 credits Students must earn a total of 225 credits.

A-G Requirements for College Acceptance a- 2 years history (World History, US History) b- 4 years English c- 3 years math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II) 4 years recommended d- 2 years lab science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) 3 years recommended e- 2 years Foreign Language- 3 years recommended f- 1 year Visual Performing Art (VPA) g- 1 year college prep elective *SAT & ACT + Writing- Second Semester of 11th grade **Fee waivers available for those who qualify **For additional information on courses that meet A-G requirements go to http://www.ucop.edu/doorways/

NCAA Division I Qualifier Requirements Complete these 16 Core Courses: 4 Years of English 3 Years of Math 2 Years of Natural or Physical Science 1 extra year of English, math, or natural /physical science 2 Years of Social Science 4 years of extra core course from any category above or Foreign Language, comparative religion or philosophy Earn a 2.3 grade-point average in your core courses 10 of the 16 courses must be completed before the start of your senior year. GPA is locked after the start of the 1st semester of your senior year. Any courses repeated after the beginning will not be calculated into the students GPA. Earn a combined SAT or ACT sum score that matches your core course grade-point average and test score on the sliding scale *For courses that are approved by the NCAA for Valley View Please visit https://web1.ncaa.org/hsportal/exec/hsAction ** Students should enter 9999 during SAT or ACT registration to send scored directly to the NCAA. Scores on transcripts will not be accepted.

Division II Sliding Scale Beginning August 1st 2018

NCAA Division III Requirements Division III college-bound student-athletes are not certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center because Division III colleges and universities each set their own admissions standards. College bound student-athletes should contact their Division III college or university of interest regarding policies on admission, financial aid and athletics eligibility.

NAIA Athletics National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) NAIA is another association that college and universities maybe a part of instead of the NCAA. Generally smaller schools NAIA requirements ask you to meet only two of the following: Minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale SAT Score of 860 or ACT score of 18 Graduate in top 50% of your class Visit the NAIA website for more information. www.playnaia.org/‎ ** Students should enter 9876 during SAT or ACT registration to send scored directly to the NAIA.

Visit College websites If your interested in playing for a school you can visit the school website and look under athletics. Example: http://csusbathletics.com/ Usually have an interest form you can submit online. You can also submit an athletic resume.

In Closing You can download the guide for free at the NCAA Eligibility Center website. www.eligibilitycenter.org/‎ If you are being recruited always check in with your counselor and the school of interest. Keep your grades up! Goal should be C’s or better. Ultimately it is you responsibility to make sure that all requirements and deadlines are being met.
