How to hook up hosting nameservers on Hostgator Cpanel Sometimes you might want to change the nameserver details on the Hostgator Cpanel. At times the website might hosted on different hosting provider as the emails. For example the emails are hosted on Pachosting’s server and the Website is hosted on Hostgator. Even then you can usually change all these settings on the domain name registrar e.g. Godaddy’s Cpanel. However, if you need to change the Nameserver / DNS settings, here’s quick walkthrough:
1. Log into your Cpanel 2. Find Simple DNS editor from the Cpanel dashboard
3. On the Simple DNS Editor you can change the Nameservers. When you create a hosting account these settings are already set as a default settings. Whenever website is hosted on Moonlight’s reseller hosting account, the Nameservers should be: ns1.moonlighthk.com and ns2.moonlighthk.com
4. You can find more options for the DNS settings on Cpanel -> Advanced DNS Zone Editor
5. You can find more options for DNS settings on Cpanel -> Advanced DNS Zone Editor These settings can be relevant if the emails are hosted elsewhere e.g. on Pachosting hosting. Note – most often all these setting on the Domain Registrar’s (e.g. Godaddy) Control Panel. Refer to the Godaddy domain setup document to find out more about nameserver settings.
