Promoting the survey to students Speak to your students about what the survey is and why it’s important Tell students about changes made in response to feedback and highlight improvements Get all staff involved in promoting the survey Update students on response rates a school RR chart is updated weekly on the NSS campaign site Allow student reps time in class to promote the survey

Linking promotional material Add a link to the NSS from your studentcentral course page Contact Marketing to get an NSS banner added to your course page Download the promotional lecture slides and show them in class – or put them on your course page Email students encouraging them to complete the survey – and thanking those that have Use promotional materials (contact Marketing for postcards and posters) Explain that Ipsos Mori will cease emailing and telephoning once they have completed the survey

Raising response rates Meet final year students to talk about NSS and student feedback Remind students about the NSS in lectures/ emails Post messages on facebook groups Post reminders on studentcentral Discuss the NSS with course reps Appoint NSS ambassadors Organise a get-together before students go on placement

NSS2016 examples course specific events with an opportunity to complete the NSS (e.g. SaSM) offering incentives (cream eggs, amazon vouchers, canteen vouchers, contributions to charity) if courses or the school reach or exceed a response rate target (e.g. PaBS, SET, SHS) course leaders talking to their students, getting in touch with students o placement, course reps talking to final year students Heads of School emailing all students in the identified population (e.g. SET) letting students know what changes have been made as a result of their feedback.
