Year 9 Homework over the holidays In autumn 2 we have been looking at the different features of the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke). (a) Study your exercise books for a mastery quiz on the first week back on this (b) Which Gospel writer would have said the following 1 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured 2 All this took place to make true what the Lord had said through the prophet. "The virgin will have a child" 3 Jesus lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets 4 Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida 5 Immediately he spoke to them and said "be brave it is I. Don't be afraid" 6 Immediately the girl sat up and looked around. At this they were extremely astonished 7 Which Gospel says that when Peter and Andrew saw Jesus "immediately they left their father in the boat and followed him"? 8 In those days John the Baptist came ... saying ... this is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah" 9 Which Gospel said that after curing a blind man "Jesus sent him home saying "don't go into the village” 10 As soon as they left the temple they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew (c) Answer this question “Since the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke say different things none of them can be relied upon” Evaluate this statement.
