Olympics 2012- the social media games % adults national newspaper websites were used by nearly three in ten adults online (29%), outstripping Twitter (15%), Facebook (25%) and YouTube (12%) as a source for Olympic news, and that newsbrands, in print and digital formats, were second only to BBC television as the destination for following the Olympics Source: YouGov Plc.Total sample size was 2103 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken 17th - 20th August 2012. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all UK adults (aged 18+).
