Principles of Regulatory Supervision Radioactive Material Nuclear Material Radiation Generators Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, OAP (Thailand)

REGULATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL Applying for a license, register and notice or Exemption for each type of radioactive materials shall be in accordance with the rules, procedures, and conditions prescribed by the Ministerial Regulation. Category Of RM Level of Regulation 1. Extremely Dangerous 1. Exemption follow by GSR Part 3 2. Very Dangerous 2. Notice 3. Dangerous 3. Licensing 4. Unlikely to be Dangerous 5. Not Dangerous Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, OAP (Thailand)

REGULATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL - Exemption level. Chapter III Section 18. Any radioactive material that is not under control of this Act shall be prescribed by the Ministerial Regulation, considering the activity level and the nature of possession or use of the radioactive material. Radioactive activity Lower than Clearance level Follow BSS No.115 Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, OAP (Thailand)

REGULATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL -Notice level. Chapter II Section 20. Any radioactive material that a person does not need to apply for a license under section 19 shall be prescribed by the Ministerial Regulation, considering the activity level and the usage nature. - follow Table I (most Cat 5 GSR part 3) - A/D lower than 0.01but higher than Clearance level Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, OAP (Thailand)

REGULATION OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL License Applying for a license, granting a license, and granting a license substitute for each type of radioactive materials shall be in accordance with the rules, procedures, and conditions prescribed by the Ministerial Regulation. Category Of RM EXAMPLE 1. Extremely Dangerous 1 Industrial Irradiator, Teletheraphy 2. Very Dangerous 2 Gamma radiography 3. Dangerous 3. Level gauge, density gauge 4. Unlikely to be Dangerous 4 STD SOURCE Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, OAP (Thailand)

REGULATION OF RADIATION GENERATORS Category Of RG Level of Regulation 1. Exemption Energy lower than 5 keV 2 Licensing Applying for a license, granting a license, and granting a license substitute for each type of radiation generators shall be in accordance with the rules, procedures, and conditions prescribed by the Ministerial Regulation Category Of RG type 1.
