PARTS OF THE College Application Transcript Teacher Recommendation Counselor Recommendation Standardized Testing
NAVIANCE 1. Create a Common App account 2. Sign FERPA Consent Form in Common App account 3. Match FERPA Consent in Naviance by providing the same email address used 4. List schools in the “Colleges I am Applying To” section. Must match your Transcript Requests. 5. Submit request for teacher recommendations through Naviance (after asking in person)
APPLICATION
The Common Application Go to www.commonapp.org for a list of schools that accept the common application Some colleges/universities require supplemental essays Sign ED/EA Agreement (if applicable) Check Standardized Test requirements : Test Optional, Subject Tests
TRANSCRIPT
Transcript Request Form Pick up form in School Counseling Office/CCC Complete form and submit to Mrs. Hook: At least 2 weeks before application deadline Parent/guardian signature required if under 18 Complete 1 form to each school that you will apply to. Three transcripts are free; thereafter $5.00 fee

TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Recommendations Determine IF needed and how many (Usually 2 letters) Ask each teacher for a letter in person Provide writer with teacher recommendation request form Request letter through Naviance for use with e-docs Allow writer 2-3 weeks to write the letter
COUNSELOR RECOMMENDATION
SENIOR APPOINTMENT Starts week of Sept. 15th Meeting is between the student and counselor Must have the following documents: Student Questionnaire Parent Brag Sheet Activity Sheet
