Primacy and recency: people most remember the first and last things to occur, and barely the middle. When scheduling an interview, ask what times the employer is interviewing and try to be first or last. of 20

If you ask someone a question and they only partially answer, just wait. If you stay silent and keep eye contact they will usually continue talking. of 20

Chew gum when you're approaching a situation that would make you nervous like public speaking or bungee jumping. of 20

When you're learning something new, teach a friend about it When you're learning something new, teach a friend about it. Let them ask questions. If you're able to teach something well, you understand it. of 20

If you get yourself to be really happy and excited to see other people, they will react the same to you. It doesn't always happen the first time, but it will definitely happen next time. of 20

Pay attention to people's feet. If you approach two people in the middle of a conversation, and they only turn their torsos and not their feet, they don't want you to join in the conversation. Similarly if you are in a conversation with a coworker who you think is paying attention to you and their torso is turned towards you but their feet are facing in another direction, they want the conversation to end. of 20

If you pretend to be something for long enough, you will eventually become it. of 20

Refer to people you’ve just met by their name. of 20

When feeling anxious, clean up your house/apartment. of 20

Everyone, even the president Everyone, even the president. Ask open-ended questions to move conversations along. of 20

Whenever you have an argument with someone, stand next to them and not in front of them. So, whenever you feel that the argument you have with another person (especially friends – it’s not cool to fight with friends) creates tension, move next to them. You won’t appear much of a threat, and they will eventually calm down. of 20

If you want people to feel good, give them validation If you want people to feel good, give them validation. rephrase what they just told you A simple example, is when you are in a conversation with another person and he says something really important for him. After he finishes, rephrase what he just said in your own words. of 20

Stand up straight, have warm hands and always keep eye contact. of 20
