Gregory Colbert Website: ashesandsnow.org The word I chose is Bliss or Blissful. I am currently spending time in one of the most blissful places I can think of, the Florida Keys. I hope to emphasize bliss and tranquility in my poster by utilizing the element of water, specifically tropical water, and its ability to capture light in shades of aqua and blue.

The Artist Gregory Colbert’s work might be seen as being spiritual rather then blissful but I enjoy his combination of animals, people and water. http://www.ashesandsnow.org/en/vision/

“In exploring the shared language and poetic sensibilities of all animals, I am working towards rediscovering the common ground that once existed when people lived in harmony with animals. The images depict a world that is without beginning or end, here or there, past or present.” —Gregory Colbert, Creator of Ashes and Snow His emphasis on space and interaction become even more compelling once you know that he does not edit his photos in any way.

David Wight Is a glass artist based out of Seattle, Washington. His studio is actually the same studio as the famous glass artist, Dale Chihuly. He and seven assistants capture the movement of water in glass. I picked him for one of my artists because I actually got to see and photograph his work in Key West where he was flown in for the week. I love the use of color and movement.

The use of translucent and semi-translucent glass could lend itself well to photo blending. http://davidwightglassart.com/
