Purpose/Context/Literature Review Physical activity has a big impact on weight Targets individuals with: Sedentary lifestyles Those who are obese Exercise at a young age Exercises tested: Push Ups Sit ups Kettlebell Swings Mile run

Method/Learning Outcomes Stopwatch Recorded data via Personal Trainer Clients will be monitored Clients will be able to see their Pre and Post tests results regarding their performance of the exercises Image source: www.dragonsports.net Image source: www.cybexintl.com Image source: http://www.wiscassetnewspaper.com/sites/default/files/2013/02/image/weightLossPinkTeamCMYK.3_0.JPG

Basic Description of Study Rushed lifestyle in today’s society Sedentary lifestyles Health issues occurring at young ages Less physically active than ever Obesity arising in children Goal: to help young adults live a more active lifestyle 10 week student & comparison of pre and post performance results

Instrumentation/Assessment Plan Completed by the Personal Trainer immediately following each exercise Used for Pre and Post tests for all clients

Pre & Post Data Results

Results/Analysis of Data – PRE Test Exercises Means Graph

Results/Analysis of Data – POST Test Exercises Means Graph

Results/Analysis Data – One Mile Run PRE/POST Graph

Results/Analysis of Data – Push Ups PRE - Females Mean = 14.6 Standard Deviation = 5.3 POST - Females Mean = 16.3 Standard Deviation = 5.2 PRE – Males Mean = 27.7 Standard Deviation = 9.0 Post - Males Mean = 29.0 Standard Deviation = 9.2 Image Source: http://bodybuilding-wizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/push-ups.jpg

Results/Analysis of Data – Sit Ups PRE – Females Mean = 36.1 Standard Deviation = 8.9 POST – Females Mean = 37.1 Standard Deviation = 8.1 PRE – Males Mean = 36.2 POST – Males Mean = 37.6 Standard Deviation = 8.4 Image Source: http://munfitnessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/proper-sit-up.jpg

Results/Analysis of Data – Kettlebell Swings PRE – Females Mean = 23.7 Standard Deviation = 4.1 POST – Females Mean = 25.0 Standard Deviation = 4.0 PRE – Males Mean = 33.3 Standard Deviation = 5.0 POST – Males Mean = 34.5 Standard Deviation = 5.3 Image Source: http://hiitacademy.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/kettlebell_swing.jpg

Results/Analysis of Data – One Mile Run PRE – Females Mean = 690.3s Standard Deviation = 79.2 POST – Females Mean = 683.6 Standard Deviation = 78.3 PRE – Males Mean = 675.1s Standard Deviation = 50.2 POST – Males Mean = 671.6s Standard Deviation = 48.8 Image Source: http://image.shutterstock.com/z/stock-photo-one-caucasian-man-young-sprinter-runner-running-in-silhouette-studio-on-white-background-143773090.jpg

Results/Analysis of Data – P Value Push Ups Females = 0.00054 Males = 0.00031 Sit Ups Females = 0.060 Males = 0.0052 Kettlebell Swings Females = 0.0031 Males = 0.0060 One Mile Run Females = 0.0031 Males = 0.0016

Discussion/ Instructional Decision Making Only one significant difference between the overall Sit Ups Pre and Post tests data regarding the mean The overall P Value for Push Ups per minute, Kettlebell Swings per minute is also significantly higher Only for females, the P Value for Sit Ups is 0.60, which means there is a higher significance of probability occurring The P Value for the One Mile run is significantly lower because all of the post-test numbers were lower than the pre-test numbers For males, the probability of Sit Ups per minute, Push Ups per minute, and Kettlebell Swings is significantly higher because the pre-test data was lower than the post-test

Next Steps/Evaluation and Reflection This study will be conducted on a quarterly basis - Motivating to try and increase your performance throughout the year - Help young children and adults prevent obesity  The Sit Ups, Push Ups, and Kettlebell Swings performed by the males and females all showed slight improvement in repetitions completed from the Pre and Post data results The One-Mile Run time for females was slightly worse for the Post data oppose to Pre The One-Mile Run time for the males was slightly better for the Post data oppose to Pre
