Discipline in schools School discipline is the system of rules, punishments and behavioral strategies appropriate to the regulation of children and the maintenance of order in schools. Its aim is to create a safe and conducive learning environment in the classroom. A disciplined student is in compliance with the school rules and codes of conduct. These rules may, for example, define the expected standards of clothing, timekeeping, social behaviour and work ethic. The term discipline is also applied to the punishment that is the consequence of breaking the rules. The aim of discipline is to set reasonable limits which protect students from harm and teach them what is safe and what is not.

ISLAMIC CONCEPT OF EDUCATION Islamic scholars have affirmed that the basic purposes of education and learning are self-purify, self- chastity and the constructing of relations with God The Islamic educationists specify that self- purify as the provisory of receiving knowledge where the purpose of a sacred pure life of sincerity and goodness. Three elements of philosophy of Islamic education are : Learner ~ is a human being that is has a dual nature, soul and body at once physical being in spirit.

~ the seat of the knowledge in man, both al-’lm and al-ma’rifah, is his spirit or soul (an-nafs), his heart (alqalb) and his intellect (al-’aql). ~ can attribute responsible for the effective establishment of the just order in his self, his being and existence also to the inculcation and dissemination of knowledge in his education. b. Knowledge ~ many expositions on the nature of knowledge in Islam ~ no doubt due to the preeminent position and paramount role accorded to al’ilm by God in the Holy Quran ~ it can be classified into two : > is given by God through revelation to man ( Holy Quran) > knowledge of the sciences ( is acquired through experience and observation and research ).

~ it can be classified into two : > is given by God through revelation to man (Holy Quran). > knowledge of the sciences ( is acquired through experience and observation and research). c. Islamic education ~ is the instilling and inculcation of adab in man (ta’dib). It means to discipline the mine and soul. ~ adab is preserving from the disgrace and the spectacle of justice as it is reflected by wisdom. ~ the aim of education in Islam is to produce a good man in order to be servant of Allah who is aware of his relations with Allah and his fellow man.
