Pre-Course Assignment Overview: During the course, you will be asked to participate as part of a small group in the development of a presentation involving some key IT challenge areas for acquisition professionals. In preparation for this presentation, identify one of the following using the template provided: One challenge you are experiencing related to the identified areas; or One of the identified areas that you anticipate will be a future challenge for you or your organization Note: if you do not have a current or future challenge related to one of the identified challenge areas, select the area that most interests you as an IT Acquisition professional You will upload your “challenge” slide and your student profile slide to complete the pre-course assignment

IT Challenge Area Examples Identify your current or future challenge as follows: Current State: In one sentence, describe the challenge. Our organization is currently transitioning from DIACAP to RMF Our software developers are using an Agile development method We have been told to transition our program/project to a cloud computing environment Impact Statement: In one sentence, describe the impact the challenge is having (or may have) on your organization or work. Transitioning to RMF is taking an inordinate amount of time and resources The developers Agile approach is creating conflict since we are used to a waterfall method We are not sure what steps we should take to determine if transitioning to Cloud computing is even feasible Course Objective: In one sentence, identify aspects of the challenge you would like to see addressed during ISA201 or in other DAU offerings. I would like to better understand RMF and what some best practices are for transitioning from DIACAP I would like to hear from others in the course how they have dealt with developers using Agile development I’d like to better understand the policies regarding cloud computing and achieve a basic understanding Cloud computing in general Introduction
