Annual Celebrations of Polish independence day
Adam laying a wreath on National Independence Day. Polish people celebrate Independence Day since 11th November 1918. That day is free from work and school. The official celebrations are held in Warsaw (the capital of Poland). Polish patriots wear smart and elegant clothes to show that Independence Day is important for them. We wear cotillions in national colours. The melodies of Polish anthem and patriotic songs resound in the whole country. OTHER ATTRACTIONS All Polish towns and cities organize patriotic concerts, street parades, historical lectures and stagings on that day. Every year lots of Polish cities organize marathons and races to commemorate National Independence Day in an active way.
On that day streets and houses are decorated with red and white Polish flags. Lots of people spend time with their families - they go for a walk together, eat special dinners or watch historical films on TV.
