“Have you ever been a part of a true team?” Team Building “Have you ever been a part of a true team?”

Team Building Acknowledges that there are differences between collections of individuals and “teams.” And between dysfunctional teams and teams that perform. The qualities of a true team emerge from a process that occurs over time.

Team Building Transform a collection of individuals with loose connections into a group with a strong shared identity and purpose. Build “Chemistry”

Team Building Stages Forming: The identity stage and the search for meaning. Develop the purpose – the team charter. Get team to understand why they are here and what they should do.

Team Building Stages Storming: The conflict stage and the move from individualism to interdependence. Find their way – themselves. Conflict is natural and needs to occur.

Team Building Stages Norming: Group structure emerges Who leads? Group roles, group norms Structure to promotes clear working arrangements.

Team Building Stages Performing Stage: Turn attention from group processes to the tasks at hand. Use the structure to perform - efficiently
