FORMS TO BUILD FOR ARCHITECTURE SCULPTRE

Wild and wacky worlds POST AND LINTEL ROOMS ROOF ARCH TOWER DOME VAULT FAÇADE COLUMN STAIRS DOORS WINDOWS ONION DOME NICHE BALCONY Objective: You will utilize brainstorming and sketching in order to plan and build your architecture sculpture. DRILL: 25 pts Which architectural features will you build? LOOK AT LIST ON RIGHT  List at least one source of inspiration: A CULTURE, STYLE OF ARCHITECTURE, ARCHITECT, LOOK AT PAST LESSONS. Which 3 forms will you build? Cube, rectangular prism, sphere, faceted shape, cylinder, cone…Curved, twisted, angular, warped, distorted, bent…. SHOW MS. GAUGER TODAY’S DRILL AND THE PAST 2 IN ORDER TO GET CLAY. Field trip permission slip.

Ways to be innovative- featuring new methods; advanced and original. Not symmetrical. Create angles and curves. Cut outs. Combine architectural elements that normally don’t go together. Do something that no one else has done. Simple parts next to complicated, detailed parts Make it funky!!!

Plan for the week: Friday- Plan and draw. Find more inspireation. Start building. Tuesday- Think about your forms and parts Build. thursday Look at Architectural detail- especially with Art Deco and Art Nouveau.
