Revised Roman Missal Video: The Eucharist

The Eucharistic Prayer New Translation Previous Translation Priest: The Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Priest: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give him thanks and praise. Priest: The Lord be with you. People: And with your spirit Priest: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right and just.

The Eucharistic Prayer Previous Translation New Translation Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

The Mystery of Faith New Translation Previous Translation Take this, all of you and eat it: This is my body which will be given up for you. Take this, all of you, and drink from it: This is the cup of my blood, The blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me. Take this all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you. Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, The blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.

The Communion Rite New Translation Previous Translation Priest: This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper. People: Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, But only the word and I shall be healed. Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only the word and my soul shall be healed.

Verse of the Day I tell you: the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the Kingdom of God ahead of you. (Matthew 21:31)

In your small groups, think of a situation where you are asked to do a chore, a homework assignment or a service project. How would you respond (yes or no)? If you said yes, explain why wouldn’t you do the task? If you said no, explain why you changed your mind? Activity Role Play Talk About It

reflection Video: The Two Sons

Think About It: Talk is Cheap Making promises is easy; keeping them is not so easy Do our actions match our words? God’s Word is more than words…it is a Person, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. We can’t save ourselves, Jesus did that for us because we are unable. But we do need to admit our need for him and repent of our sins. Repenting doesn’t just mean saying you’re sorry. It means changing your life. Making excuses is the same as saying “No.” Up until the very end, we have the freedom to change our mind. God is honest and he insists that we be honest with ourselves and accept responsibility for our actions. What will you decide? Yes or No? Heaven or Hell? It’s your choice.

Prayer Petitions You have poured out upon a sinful world the gracious gift of your mercy in Jesus Christ – grant us a grateful spirit, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord, Hear our Prayer You have rewarded our small service to you with unimaginable blessings, we pray to the Lord. You raise the dead to life - grant us the hope to trust in your generosity rather our own merits, we pray to the Lord. [Prayer Intentions] For these and all our personal intentions, we pray to the Lord.

Closing Prayer God, You are always true to us and keep your promises. Forgive us when we do wrong; help us to see our faults, and make us quick to carry out your commands. We pray this prayer to you through Jesus, your Son, who lives with you, forever and ever. Amen
