For example, a smile and cheerful greeting could let people know that you are happy to see them.

Understanding Concepts 6. Explain how assertive behavior can help you learn and grow. By using assertive behavior, a person can find out what he or she can do to improve his or her skills. For example, a person cut from a team can ask a coach how to improve enough to make them team next time.

Critical Thinking 7. Teresa was dribbling a basketball in the house after her mother had asked her to stop. The ball took a bad bounce and knocked over a lamp. The lamp broke. How can Teresa respond in a way that shows personal responsibility?
