What is the difference? PTSA Supports programs at Durham from inside Works directly with students, teachers, and administration at the school FOUNDATION Supports programs at Durham from the outside Works as a liaison between the school and community

What about fundraising? PTSA National, State, and District driven PTSA Membership One time donations by family FOUNDATION Corporate and local businesses Special Events Community School

How are budgets created? PTSA Budget established prior year Funded through memberships and school programs FOUNDATION Budget flexible Funded through corporate donations, private donations, and monetary gifts

What programs are funded? PTSA School Focused programs Dances, School Store, Fun Friday National, State, and District directed programs Red Ribbon Week, Reflections FOUNDATION School Focused programs Big ticket items (physical improvements, technology updates) Teacher grants Additional staff
