The daring decision by the British to send the Australian and New Zealand soldiers to Gallipoli was anticipated to be a quick action to remove Turkey from the war but the campaign escalated into an 8 month battle with heavy casualties on both sides. Dawn service is a public ceremony to remember all the soldiers who died at Gallipoli and world war one. There is a march laying of flowers and wreaths and playing of the last post. They have only One minutes silent to remember the soldiers.
