What is a Habitat? A habitat is the type of environment that an animal or plant lives in, for example: a forest, an ocean, or a desert.
What Habitat do We Live In? East Tennessee is a forest habitat, more specifically, a deciduous forest habitat. A deciduous forest is a forest that has trees that lose their leaves in the fall and winter.
What Other Types of Habitats are There? A few of the other types of habitats include the tundra, tropical rainforest, grasslands, ocean, and desert.
What Kinds of Plants Live in the Deciduous Forest Habitat? Deciduous trees include maple, oak, and hickory trees. Other types of plants in deciduous forests include wildflowers such as coneflowers and milkweed; mosses; and ferns.
What Kinds of Animals Live in the Deciduous Forest Habitat? East Tennessee is famous for having a wide variety of native animals including white tailed deer, black bears, red foxes, coyotes, grey squirrels, eastern box turtles, and many species of salamanders.
