? miRNA profiling (primary vs recurrent) Between patients cohort (n=6) RT-PCR selected targets (2 miRNA genes) FFPE set (n=22) Fresh frozen set (n=18) Figure 1 Flow chart of our study design. miRNA profiling was performed using TaqMan PCR in a homogenous set of 3 primary advanced and 3 recurrent serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinomas from different patients. Selected miRNA targets (n=4) were validated in a set of primary and recurrent FFPE serous papillary adenocarcinomas (n=24). Correlations were performed between miRNA expression levels and survival features in an independent set of primary advanced serous ovarian cancer samples. We also attempted to determine whether components of the miRNA processing machinery are responsible for miRNA dysregulation in recurrent ovarian cancer. Mechanism for miRNA deregulation expanded ?
