Unit 5 - They Overcame Their Obstacles Before you Read Observe the book cover on the right and read the title of the text. Then do the activities in your notebook. The title of that book is Helen Keller: Crusader for the Blind and Deaf. What do you think a crusader is? A person who works hard to achieve fame and fortune. The period of Anne's life when she wrote her diary. The main idea of Anne Frank's diary entry is that She was feeling impatient. She was planning to go out. She was feeling the need of having a friend.

Ask a classmate to read your draft. Get some feedback. Rewrite your entry based on the feedback you had and make any improvements or necessary corrections. Proofread your work.
