OS/X in Detail Supports 32 and 64 bit applications Scripts can be written in any scripting language, eg. Bash, Csh Uses ZIP files to download technology, but supports .DMG images or any files E.g. Jamf Composer (does not require full Casper Suite) New MacWatch Tuque utility to semi-automatically package things

Linux in Detail Tuque is 64 bit, but it supports 32/64 bit applications Scripting is standard on Linux Tuque scripts can be written with Bash, Tcsh, etc. Can use any native packaging technologies Compatible with all common distros

OS Virtualization Tuque can run in any number of VMs, each identified by their unique NetBIOS or host names Many OS/X users also boot a Windows VM for certain apps, Tuque easily treats OS/X and Windows as two VMs.

Why Netbios/Hostnames Tuque actually uses the UUID of the underlying hardware or of the disk drive But for ease of users administering systems, a globally unique name is nicer

Software Store Will be a simpler user interface Will allow users to self-select software pre-configured by staff Packages will have a store checkbox and an optional price Purchase notices will be generated daily for in-store purchases Still working out details, not available yet
