Pre- production and planning Film documentary

What is your concept/ idea? The concept of my idea is to try and raise recognition towards the homeless people out there. However the main aim of my documentary is to point out that small things we don’t appreciate mean so much to the unfortunate people. On the other hand this video is to raise recognition to the government and people to help encourage people that this is an issue that needs much more attention.

Who are your target audience My target audience is aimed at anyone who is interested in helping the homeless or the ones in need. However its also aimed at organizations such as charities and schools to help raise awareness and get the governments attention.

What is your synopsis? In such a busy world? Do you ever think to your self for a moment why homeless people are sat on the floor begging for money? Not everyone is born rich, not everyone goes up the class system and not everyone is lucky in life. Seeing people beg for money everyday deserve to get at least a bit of attention. Not because of what the media portrays the people to think they buy drugs or alcohol with, but because of the fact they want to feed themselves just to survive another day on this unlucky world. But guess what? They still manage to smile everyday.

What primary research will you carry out I will carry out one main type of primary source. I will use a method called interview. This will help me interact with the person I will need to interview and also collect information from them either by writing the answers down or recording it. I will have to interview them overtly as I cant be undercover. It’s important I keep this data saved somewhere otherwise when I come to producing my documentary I wont be able to add enough detail as I wont be able to remember everything.

What secondary research will you carry out and why? I will be using a couple of main secondary types of research to help me get enough information for my documentary as possible. Firstly I will be using the internet to get some useful statistics to support my view and raise awareness on how many people are homeless by collecting statistics which were already been produced. I will also use newspaper to find some articles on homeless people to provide me with positive ideas to add to my documentary to help the audience understand certain things.

What roles do people have in the production During the production I will be working with Etedal . We will have to split the roles for this production in half. There are many roles which we will need to consider such as the filming aspect, sound aspect, editing, cost, and so on. We need to have someone to interview who is homeless and that’s also a role which we will need to consider and plan out.

What responsibilities will they have Each person in my group will have a different role. It all depends on the strengths and weaknesses each participant has. For example I am really good at interviewing people so I will be in charge of interviewing people for my documentary. On the other hand my friend Etedal is amazing at editing and filming so that will be her responsibility and the task she will have to complete. Filming- ete equiptment- me Asking questions- me Editing- both Voice over- me

What is your schedule? I will need to set out a schedule/ plan for my production. I will set a schedule based on the free times I have to complete some tasks but also set it during college hours. I usually are not busy on Mondays so I will participate with my friend to film about my chosen topic on Mondays for 2- 3 hours. I will also edit this footage on Tuesdays but I will need to get more footage the following week and see what else I need to do to ensure my production is the best it possibly can be.

How long will it take? What dates/ times are you able to use in this production As I mentioned before, I will use Mondays an Tuesdays to fully work on my production. However, I feel as if it will take me about a month to get all my footage and edit out all the footage. However, I will also be able to work on this during Saturdays and Sundays as I have nothing planned. I am confident that within a month all my production will be completed and edited.

Interview questions? How did you get homeless? How does it feel to be homeless Why do you ask for money? Do you regret anything in life? Is there any way you can over come this issue?
