How Did We Get There……. Visited facilities in Maysville, New Hanover County and Virginia. Met with equipment vendor. Obtained recommendations and budgetary cost. Prepared multiple concepts with cost estimates for evaluation and selected the preferred site layout. Met with NC Solid Waste Section regarding requirements. Discussed Storm water Management requirements with the city. Met with City Planning Department regarding site plan requirements. Obtained direction from GUC concerning the electrical service connection. Obtained survey information from previous surveys of the site. Operations Plan Amendment- Submitted to NC Solid Waste Section Site Plan Submission to the City of Greenville
Next Steps…. Prepared a summary of lessons learned from visiting similar facilities. Finalize equipment layout for optimal material flow and safety. Review with operations staff on site. Prepare Construction Documents. Vet the documents with County and Equipment vendor review. Obtain regulatory and local government approval. Let for bids. 2 Bids- One for the Equipment and one for the Building and Site Work. Construction began on September 6, 2016 Final Inspection completed on February 28, 2017. Began operating on March 1, 2017 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony April 5, 2017
