School Required/Salary The schooling and average salary for being a doctor would be 4 Years of College, high school diploma And Most doctors are paid well. In fact, a physician's average salary($191,520) is higher than any salary of our Best Health Care Jobs. Dentists have the next highest average salary on our list ($163,240), which is still approximately $28,000 less per year than a general internist's.
