Timeline… Monday (11/6) Thursday- Tuesday (11/7) Friday Weds (11/8) Independent Work Groups Teacher lead mini-lessons Computer Formatting. Said is Dead- set rid of said in your story. Resolutions- Ending your story. Self-Revision Checklist Tuesday (11/7) Self-Presentation Self- Evaluation. Group Feedback Session *You must participate in this session to get a presentation grade/this is your presentation grade. Weds (11/8) Revise & Edit your story! Thursday (11/9) Finish & Turn in your story. Thursday- Independent Work Station Groups. Teacher lead mini-lessons Computer & Formatting Exposition- Introduction of your story. Characterization Friday Stuck on the Hero’s Journey Steps. Writing with Imagery. Transitions in writing. Homework over the weekend! Complete ROUGH DRAFT of your story.
Requirements… 5 comic pages at least. Neatly hand-written/Or typed. Graphic Novel: 5 comic pages at least. Neatly hand-written/Or typed. Must include dialogue balloons, thought bubbles & captions. Must include at least 2 examples from each cinematic techniques (Camera Shots, Camera Angles & Lighting). Format: Comic Panels. Cover Page: Story Title, Image, Your Name. Traditional Story: Page Length: 3 pages, double spaced (Minimum). Typed, 12 point font, Times New Roman. Format: Name, class period, date on top left corner. Story Title close to the top. Paragraphs Indented. Visuals- 2 illustrations at least 1/4th of a page (minimum). Can use computer images but it has to be enhancing… *Not counted in the page length.
Independent Work Expectations… Scholars are working consistently and independently. ZERO VOICES Independent- this is an assessment, you are working alone. Scholars are seated the entire time and must ask to get up to get water, etc. Scholars are on-task, focused, working the whole time. Scholars consult their resources before asking for help (notebook, Springboard books, portfolio work, online resources, dictionaries/thesaurus. Scholars ask for help from the teacher by raising their hand and patiently waiting. If Scholars need extra help, they will attend the mini-workshop on the topic that they need help with. Scholars will add questions/needs to Post It notes and place it on the Parking Lot.
