Themes emerging from SMT workshops Clarity Empowerment Support Clarity: Clear, efficient approval process Clear who is responsible for what content Recognition that content owners, contributors and uploaders are often separate Empowerment: Ability to put content live in timely fashion Recognition of time and expertise required to create and upload content Recognised, empowered department website champions – know the CMS, best practice Support: Digital Communications support – best practice advice on content, section structure, etc IT support – prompt resolution of technical issues Technical and best practice training

Operating principles for proposed model Responsibility for allocated content is recognised and understood at identified levels Clarity Led by M&C, to foster best practice and keep identified people trained and motivated Community Remains collective but within a more defined and supported framework Content ownership Simplified through website design and streamlined via governance model Content publishing More robust and regular Training and support
