Introduction Small village in south west Wexford with population of 400 Coastal location relying on Tourism. Formed Duncannon Village Renewal in 2012 Raised €120,000 in 1 year through fundraising and help of wexford county council and WLD
5 Year Development Plan 2013 -Began survey of village residents and holiday home owners to see what people wanted. From the survey analysis we formed working groups to create a plan of action

Fundraising Series of events to attract people to Duncannon Each member asked to run 1 event 1 event per month
Fun Runs Our main source of funding 4 x 5km runs held Local businesses sponsored prizes, food and water Local dj donated time for free.
Turkey Burner Held every Christmas for past 3 years. Average of 150 to 200 runners Local pub sponsors free soup and sandwiches after Local business sponsor s prize
Salmon Run Local fishermen sponsored €1000 towards the race so we called it the “Salmon Run” Great success with over 250 people there.
Cookery Demonstration Big night, raised over €2,700 Kevin Dundon from Dunbrody House donated his time Local hotel gave room for free
“Taste of Duncannon” Aldridge Lodge, Dunbrody House, Roches Bar and The Strand Tavern all donated a meal for 2 for free. Raised over €1000 with this.
Cake Sale Everyone baked cakes and we sold them after mass on Easter Sunday Raised almost €1500
Fashion Show A great night out. Thanks to Wallaces in Wellingtonbridge and Mister H menswear for the clothes Locals all modelled the clothes, good fun. €2000 raised.
Car boot sales Held 2 of these during the summer in Duncannon Fort €20 per table and then donations at the gate Raised €2500
Wexford County Council Matching funding provided for what we raised Lots of advice and support offered Applied and availed of amenity grants provided by local councillors
