Working Group 13 We currently have 6 open PARs 1484.13.1 to 1484.13.6 1484.13.1 Standard for Learning Technology - Conceptual Model for Resource Aggregation for Learning, Education, and Training The remaining open PARS are a set of recommended practices for various Aggregation Format Mappings based on the Core Ontology developed in 1484.13.1. These are listed below. All 5 best practices are at the same stage.
Status 1484.13.6 Comprises a "human readable" standards document, and four accompanying ontology files. The draft standard has completed WG review. The editor is now integrating the WG comments and visualisations produced from the final ontology files into the document to produce the balloting draft. It is anticipated that this should be ready for Mandatory Editorial Coordination (MEC) in approximately 4 weeks. The balloting versions of the ontology files have been sent to the IEEE for hosting ready for ballot. Copyright clearances required for this standard are complete.
Status 1484.13.2 to 1484.13.6 Technical work has been completed and a first draft of the ontology file is available (this is required as supporting but not ballotable material for 1484.13.1) The WG is conducting quality review on the ontologies, creating required references and identifiers during this process. This work is completed on 4 of the 5 mapping best practices. Each mapping best practice will comprise a "human readable" best practice document, and two accompanying ontology files.
Status The format for the "human readable" form of the mapping best practice has been tested in an annex to 1484.13.1 Once the balloting draft of 1384.13.1 is completed the editor will begin drafting the "human readable" best practice documents and the WG chair will request appropriate copyright clearances. The order of drafting will be determined by the WG and may not be sequential.

Working Group 11 1484.11.1 Revision Reaffirmation ballot on the XML binding of the current data model
1484.11.1 Revision We have decided that the data model needs to be restructured and have been researching a simple data model definition mechanism. We have decided that the data model needs to be restructured and have been researching a simple data model definition mechanism.
1484.11.1 Revision We are pursuing three related problems and have done work on all three Agreeing on a data model definition mechanism Agreeing on implementation use cases to validate data model requirements Mapping the current CMI data elements into the new model
1484.11.1 Revision We would like to adopt a data model definition mechanism that has some grounding and traction and are currently pursuing a variation of the System Entity Structure approach
1484.11.1 Revision We would like our solution to be broadly applicable to other runtime data used in learning applications. We would like to validate this with IEEE LTSC competency definition standard and the draft RAMLET core ontology. We are collaborating with the LETSI organization on implementation requirements and on a learning activity definition mechanism.
Working Group 20 Service Interface for the Exchange of Competency Models Service Interface for the Exchange of Reusable Competency Definitions
Service Interface for the Exchange of Competency Models Project 1484.20.2 This standard describes a service interface for exchanging models of competencies, including the structure and elements used to describe a competency. It is limited to sharing the information needed for a system to identify the competency models it uses and how it instantiates them. This standard does not prescribe a way to exchange the descriptions of specific competencies or the competence of an entity such as an individual, team, or organization.
Service Interface for the Exchange of Reusable Competency Definitions Project 1484.20.3 This standard describes a service interface for exchanging definitions of competencies using IEEE 1484.20.1-2007, Standard for Reusable Competency Definitions. This standard is limited to exchanging the definitions of competencies and does not prescribe a way to exchange competency models or the competence of an entity such as an individual, team, or organization.
