How to Avoid Being Abused Grade 9 Sexual Assault: Lesson Three (OVERHEAD: How to Avoid Being Abused) How to Avoid Being Abused Recognize the early warning signs of abuse. Trust your instincts and act on them. Get out of a risky situation as soon as you sense something is wrong. Learn to identify dangerous behaviour. Always let someone know who you are with and where you are going. Stand up for yourself. Be direct and state what you want. For example: “Take your hands off me.” “Get out!
