“Historically speaking, cross culturally, humans have more commonality than differences” But time and again the focus of politics has been to creating a narrative based on “us” and “the other”. Instructor must take the backseat from “sage on the stage” to “guide on the side” Empowering students Goal should be to let the students learn from one another students explain, share, comment, critique, and develop course materials

Student assessment A snap shot

Quote 1 (AUT) Student 11:  ‘The interaction with students from another countries will make each one of us to realize that we are all the same people, that we can share the same love for each other’s. It's the same no matter if the people are from the same country or another one, because at the end of the day we are all human being. I think I can learn more if I have the opportunity to meet different cultures, religions and people.’

Quote 2 (FIT-SUNY) Student 8: ‘ I was born in the United States and my family has lived here for generations. I am Russian, Spanish, Polish, and German mostly. My mother is Catholic and my father is Jewish. I was raised on American traditions.’

Quote 3 (fit-suny) Student 1: ‘I would highly recommend any student to take this course. I believe I have gained more knowledge in this course then any other elective I have taken during my time at FIT. I think it is a great opportunity for students to have and I wish it was implemented into more educational experiences.’
