Why is John Lennon a Great Briton? He co-founded the band ‘The Beatles’ which is still to this day, the most successful band in popular music. He became a symbol of peace to many who were protesting about controversial issues such as the Vietnam War. He is remembered as one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, finding success with a solo career after The Beatles.
